Recipe: Restaurant-Style Pan Seared Salmon
Ingredients:
- 2 salmon filets (6 oz each)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Fresh herbs (such as parsley or dill) for garnish
Instructions:
- Prepare the salmon:
- Pat the salmon filets dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat the pan:
- Sear the salmon:
- Place the salmon filets skin-side down in the hot pan. Sear without moving them for about 4-5 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
- Flip and add flavor:
- Carefully flip the salmon using a spatula. Add the butter and minced garlic to the pan. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, basting the salmon with the melted butter and garlic.
- Finish with lemon:
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the filets just before removing them from the pan.
- Serve:
- Plate the salmon and garnish with fresh herbs. Pair with your favorite side dishes, such as rice or roasted potatoes!
